Teaching & Projects

From the classroom to the world

University Teaching

I have been teaching at the University of Barcelona since 2018, and nothing recharges my batteries like a room full of curious minds. My courses sit at the intersection of communication theory, visual culture and emerging technologies — because the best filmmakers of tomorrow need to understand not just cameras, but the societies those cameras point at.

In 2025, I took on the academic direction of a micro-credential in Virtual Production at UPC Barcelona Tech — stagecrafting with Unreal Engine and LED walls. Because the future of production is being built right now, and Terrassa should be part of it.

I also design interactive digital learning units on Generative AI for communication and entrepreneurship for the University of Sharjah (UAE) — proving that good ideas do not need a physical classroom to reach people.

TRS Film Lab & Parc Audiovisual

I spent 15 years transforming a former hospital into the Parc Audiovisual de Catalunya — a €31M studio complex that has hosted productions for Netflix, Amazon Prime, Movistar+, Lionsgate and RTVE. That journey earned recognition as “Best Practice in Innovation” by the European Commission in 2009, and planted the seed for what came next.

In 2022, that energy crystallised into TRS Film Lab, funded with €250,000 from ICAA. The lab is a sandbox for prototyping tech-based audiovisual content — from VR experiences to LED wall stagecrafting — while connecting emerging talent with the industry through education-industry transfer programmes.

I also developed “TRS Fem Cinema!”, a teacher training programme embedding audiovisual literacy in schools, and produce the annual school film festival — now in its 5th edition. Because if we want a society that understands images, we need to start early.

Giving back: Red Cross volunteering

Every week I run audiovisual culture workshops at a homeless shelter in Terrassa, through the Spanish Red Cross. Because if I believe that creativity is transformative — and I do — then it cannot have an entry fee. Volunteer since 2023.
